Supporting the Next Generation Through Careers Connected
At Contract Personnel, we’re passionate about connecting people with opportunities – not just through recruitment, but by supporting careers education across Norfolk and Suffolk.
That’s why we were proud to support the recent Norfolk Careers Conference, organised by the Norfolk & Suffolk Careers Hub. The event brought together educators, employers and careers professionals who all share the same goal: helping young people understand the opportunities available to them and preparing them for the world of work.
Our own Joe Randlesome had the pleasure of delivering his interactive comedy workshops during the conference. Combining humour with important careers messages, the sessions encouraged attendees to think differently about engagement, communication and inspiring the next generation. Judging by the standing ovations (and plenty of laughs!), the workshops certainly made an impact!
The conference also marked the launch of the Careers Connected platform – a fantastic new resource designed to bring education and business together in one easy-to-use place.
The platform allows schools, colleges and education providers to post careers events, employer encounters, workplace visits and opportunities, while businesses can browse what’s available and sign up to support them. By making collaboration simpler, Careers Connected aims to create more meaningful links between education and employers, helping students understand how their learning connects to real careers.
When young people can clearly see the pathway from education into employment, they’re often more engaged, motivated and confident about their future. That’s why initiatives like Careers Connected are so important.
As a recruitment business, we see first-hand the value of building those connections early. Supporting careers events, speaking with students and working alongside schools helps develop the workforce of tomorrow while giving employers the chance to inspire future talent.
If you’re a school, college or organisation looking for an engaging speaker for your careers event, Joe is always happy to get involved. Whether it’s delivering interactive workshops, speaking about employability, sharing career insights or simply encouraging young people to think positively about their futures, we’d love to support your event.
Likewise, if you’re a business looking to give back, we encourage you to explore the Careers Connected platform. By offering your time, expertise or opportunities, you can make a real difference to young people across our region.
Together, we can help inspire the next generation – one conversation, one opportunity and, occasionally, one terrible joke at a time.
