Ready For Duck Duty: Busby of Duckingham Palace
We are proud to unveil this our duck design for this year’s Grand Norwich Duck Race – run by Break Charity.
Stand to attention and welcome ‘Busby of Duckingham Palace’.
Once again, Contract Personnel asked school children across the area to ‘design a duck’ – which would then be made into a reality.
The winning student for 2025 was Ianto of The Free School Norwich with his Grenadier Guard design – standing proud at Duckingham Palace.
The duck was unveiled at a full school assembly – with children encouraged to ‘quack’ at various intervals of an amusing talk from Marketing Manager Joe Randlesome.
Firstly, there was some shout-outs of designs which really caught the eye – which each child able to pop to the front and choose a small duck.
Raffaella (aged 5) duck named ‘Anything’, Fern (aged 5) for ‘Melody’, Linus (aged 7) for Bukayo Quacker, and Eve (aged 7) for Vettie.
We then moved onto the highly commended for Beatrix for Quackamole, Frank for Sensie Duckster, Phong for Game Designer Bob and Aavya for Scarlet.
The overall winner was Ianto and we have named him Busby of Duckingham Palace.
Will be interesting to see how the ‘busby hat’ fares in the water….
Joe Randlesome (Marketing Manager) will be race commentator on the day, with the large duck race starting at 2pm.
