Contract Personnel are currently recruiting for a Senior Buyer to assist one of our clients on a fixed term basis (12 Months)
Our client is currently recruiting for a talented, creative and motivated Buyer to join them on their exciting journey. Their Benefits package includes a Bonus Scheme, Pension Plan and Bupa Health Cover.
This role requires a commercially astute individual to lead procurement for defined direct material product groups, working closely with Engineering, Quality and Programme teams.
Role Objectives
Developing and maintaining a competitive and reliable supply base
Supporting new programmes and current production vehicles
Supply base management, relationship building and issue resolution
Lead time analysis to ensure Company requirements are met
Continuous seeking of measurable improvement opportunities
Key Duties:
Take the current team to the next stage. An increase in volume and a change to the current purchasing structure will mean a different outlook is needed.
Experience within procurement and supply chain, preferably within Automotive / Manufacturing / Technology sectors
Purchase of parts to support all current and future products
Build relationships with our colleagues in Lotus China.
Build, Maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.
Monitor market trends and ensure we are ahead of the curve.
Monitor costs, new and existing, and review cost reduction opportunities.
Reduce back orders
Skills and attributes:
MS office products – especially Excel
Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise and achieve set tasks.
Experience within procurement and supply chain, preferably within Automotive / Manufacturing / Technology sectors
Excellent communicator capable of establishing solid, professional relationships
Innovative mindset, able to generate new ideas and translate them into tangible results
Ability to formulate and present recommendations to senior stakeholders
Higher education: Degree or NVQ level 5 Certificate (ideally technical/business related)
