Job Role
The Printer is responsible for the accurate, secure, and timely printing of examination papers, educational resources, and other printed materials. The role requires exceptional attention to detail, adherence to confidentiality procedures, and the ability to operate and maintain printing equipment to produce high-quality printed documents.
Key Responsibilities
- Print examination papers, workbooks, revision guides, certificates, and other educational materials according to production schedules.
- Ensure all examination materials are printed accurately, in the correct quantities, and within agreed deadlines.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security when handling examination papers and sensitive documents.
- Operate digital printing and finishing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare files for printing, ensuring layouts, formatting, and print settings are correct.
- Monitor print quality throughout production and carry out quality checks to identify and correct errors.
- Complete finishing tasks such as cutting, folding, stapling, binding, laminating, and packaging where required.
- Label, organise, and securely store completed materials for distribution or collection.
- Maintain adequate stocks of paper, toner, ink, and other consumables, reporting shortages promptly.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of printing equipment and report faults as necessary.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised working environment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production targets and respond to urgent printing requests.
- Maintain accurate production records and ensure all work is completed in accordance with organisational procedures.
