Fire Engineer

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Fire Engineer to join our clients’ team to carry out fire safety installation works within a residential property currently undergoing renovation in Norwich.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer who takes pride in delivering high-quality work while ensuring compliance with current fire safety regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure and commission fire alarm systems.
• Install and test emergency lighting systems.
• Carry out first-fix and second-fix electrical works associated with fire safety installations.
• Ensure all installations comply with relevant British Standards and fire safety regulations.
• Complete testing, fault finding and commissioning of installed systems.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment at all times.
• Liaise professionally with site managers, contractors and other trades to ensure work is completed efficiently.
• Complete installation records and commissioning documentation where required.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience installing fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
• Good understanding of relevant British Standards, including BS 5839 and BS 5266.
• ECS/CSCS card (where applicable).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of workmanship.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Qualifications

• FIA training or equivalent fire industry qualifications.
• Experience working on residential renovation or refurbishment projects.
• Electrical qualifications (e.g. Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
• Experience commissioning addressable fire alarm systems.
