Agricultural Labourer

We are currently looking for a hardworking, reliable and physically fit Agricultural Fencing Contractor to join a small, friendly team on a temp-to-perm basis.

This is a hands-on, outdoor role working across East Anglia, predominantly Norfolk, with projects within the agricultural, forestry, equine and viticulture sectors.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 16:30
Hours per week: 42.5 hours

The Role

You will be involved in all aspects of fencing work, including:

• Erecting and repairing a variety of fencing.

• Working predominantly on agricultural, forestry and equine fencing projects.

• Setting out and preparing fence lines.

• Digging and preparing ground for fencing.

• Handling and installing posts, strainers, rails and wire.

• Moving fencing materials and equipment.

• Operating modern fencing machinery, including tracked post knockers and diggers.

• Working safely around machinery and other members of the team.

• Maintaining a high standard of workmanship.

• Keeping work areas, machinery and vehicles clean and tidy.

This is a physically demanding role, involving regular lifting, carrying, digging and handling of fencing materials. You will be working outdoors throughout the year and in all weather conditions, so you must be comfortable and willing to get stuck in.

Experience & Training

Previous experience in agricultural, forestry, equine fencing, viticulture or machinery operation would be an advantage, but previous fencing experience is not essential.

Full training will be provided for the right candidate, including training on modern fencing machinery.

Requirements

• Full UK driving licence.

• Physically capable of carrying out demanding manual work.

• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

• Good attention to detail.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small team.

Please note: Work will take place at various sites across East Anglia, predominantly in Norfolk. The advertised 07:30–16:30 hours are the hours on site; travel to and from the work site is outside these working hours.
