CPC Reminder: Distribute Your Training To Avoid Last-Minute Rush
Just a quick reminder for all drivers (7.5 Tonne, Cat C+E, Cat C) in relation to your CPC.
It’s generally recommended to book a 7-hour module each year. This helps distribute the required 35 hours of training across the 5-year period, avoiding a last-minute rush to complete everything. This also allows for more flexible scheduling and potential cost savings over the long term.
Why is this recommended?
- Avoid Last-Minute Stress:
Spreading out the training ensures you don’t have to cram all 35 hours into a single year, especially if you’re close to the 5-year deadline.
- Flexibility and Choice:
You can select the modules that best fit your needs and professional development.
- Potential Cost Savings:
By completing the training over time, you might be able to find better deals or take advantage of promotions offered by training providers.
- Staying Updated:
Regular training helps you stay up-to-date with changes in regulations, driving practices, and vehicle standards, which is crucial for maintaining a safe and competent driving record.
- Maximizing Professional Development:
Incorporating CPC training into your ongoing professional development plan can lead to greater benefits for your business, such as cost savings, better driving habits, and increased safety.
Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) is a mandatory qualification for professional bus, coach, and lorry drivers in the UK and across Europe. It ensures drivers are competent and safe, adhering to road safety standards and industry best practices.
