Charity Partnerships – A Year of Giving at CPL

As we approach the end of 2024, we thought it would be a good time to reflect some of the charity work and partnerships we have undertaken and developed this year.

From sunflowers to doughnuts and signed shirts to dress down days – we have been involved in lots of initiatives to help local causes.

Our most recent donation was with our Norwich City sponsored player Kaide Gordon’s signed training top being donated to On The Stall City. They raise money for the Community Sports Foundation and our Marketing Manager Joe Randlesome was delighted to meet Jacob and the team recently. In previous years, we have also supported the initiative with signed merchandise – including from our previous player sponsor Michael McGovern.

We also donated a signed Norwich City shirt for the Norfolk Accident Rescue Service (NARS) ball and Fresh Start – a ‘lived Experienced’ Mentoring & Advocacy service, providing wrap around support to individuals who have been involved with the criminal justice system.

We donated a signed shirt and boots from player Sam McCallum to Amber’s Army – a Norfolk based family charity, aiming to ‘Create Rainbows in the Darkest of Days’ for Norfolk families who have a child with a terminal cancer diagnosis.

The charity has a special place in the hearts of us all, but particularly for our Permanent Recruitment Consultant Danny Moloney, who recently took on the role of compere at their charity ball. On the night, they raised a fantastic £23,500.

Danny said: “𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐀𝐫𝐦𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐮𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞, 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐤𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐰𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮, 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐭. 𝐀𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐬𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝.”

Our teams in Norwich and Thetford also love a themed dress day and we were proud to join the #DoBlue campaign in support of Norfolk and Waveney Mind. We also run a monthly dress down day in our offices and we choose a different charity each month to donate to. Our staff members pay a small fee to take part in this.

During 2024, some of the charities we have supported include: Marie Curie Cancer Care, Alzheimer’s Society, Brave Futures, Headway Norfolk & Waveney, and Change Grow Live.

In recent weeks, we have done a few slightly more quirky pieces of charity fundraising. We worked closely with the Big C Cancer Charity to sell some sunflowers in our Norwich office. We also helped support EACH with the purchase of some doughnuts as part of their ‘doughnut dash’ and entered another duck race in partnership with Break Charity.

Earlier in the year we supported supported local group Match of the Dads – as they completed a remarkable #24HoursOfFootball match.

The charity effort raised money for Campaign Against Living Miserably, a male mental health awareness and suicide prevention charity

We were glad to play a small part by donating some much needed energy drinks for the players to consume during their mammoth effort!

And lastly, our MD Sarah Hooper has been completing some of her own fundraising during November for Macmillan Cancer Support. This is a challenge to walk 100km with her dog Ziggy.
